The following is from a newspaper clipping in the Chap Talbott Scrapbook; 1899:
"L.C. Talbott has leased the new canning factory built by Rathburn Bros in Rutland. For his 2 factories he has
purchased 1,000,000 cans, 6,000 lbs solder, 40,000 boxes and 1,000,000 labels. He has 700 acres of tomatoes under contract
from the farmers."
