Levi bought 40 acres from Henry Morgan in Apr 1836 for $250.00 down, $50.00 in a year, and $70.00 a year later.  The down payment was 2 horses valued at $250.00.  After the final payment he received his deed in Feb 1839, recorded in Book N, page 49; Levi signed with an X; located N1/2 of E1/2 of SE1/4 of section 9, township 8, range 7.   John R.
